The hotel has a converged IT network that incorporates Back Office System, Telephony, CCTV, Guest WiFi and Point of Sale System, all managed by different vendors.
The hotel paid premium price to all respecive vendors while not getting satisfying support and the best out of their systems.
For instance, whenever there was a fault or probelm with any part of the system, the vendor would not take ownership of the problem and instead shift or pass on the issue to another vendor since its a converged network.
On another instance, the hotel paid premium monthly fees for managed guest wifi solution, but did not get Guest Data Analytics which if they had, would allow the hotel to re-target their guests and upsell their services.
So overall, the hotel paid hefty monthly fees for little to no services.
